doin the math...
200Million / 2k = 125k H1 employees that will fall in 50-50 rule?
Is that a realistic number? does body shop based consulting companies have that many employees?
If thats not right , that bill is just waste on their efforts ? huh?

And how does it not apply to AOS.
For Consular processing people have to plan trips and get medical and all that.
Why doesnt the same analogy apply to AOS. - Please explain...

Notice date is different from Receipt date. If your file is delivered on July 2nd then you would get a receipt date of July 2nd even if your information is entered into the system 2 months after the receipt date.
I am confused about receipt date?
Notice date is when the receipt notice is generated- That's simple
Is receipt date the date when they do data entry into the system or is it the date when they receive the package even though they may do data entry a month later?
In other words people who filed there application on July 2nd,3rd etc ... and lets say USCIS takes 2 months to receipt those cases.. then after 2 months when the notice is generated won't it have a July 2nd receipt date? for July 2 filers?

Pappu,
I have a suggestion! I don't think forcing monthly $25 contribution to keep donor status alive is a very good idea, especially in current economy. Take an example of myself. It is decided that I am going to loose job on 17th March, may not be able to contribute every month.
Rethink!
I think IV core can give lifetime exception to active members like 'ItIsNotFunny' for their efforts. For others, let monthly contribution stay.

Guys,
Keep the cool. USCIS is very unpredictable as we all have seen. Get ready to see the dates move forward pretty quickly this year! There are more chances to have increased visa numbers and things can only go UP from here on.
Watch the documentray "The Secret" and put your positive thoughts out there...

Girish - CIR was meant to help the illegals not us folk. I hope we never have to see CIR again . It would just mean millions more ahead in line whereas we who have been waiting for years will be sent to the dustbin.
What I try to meant for legal relief from congress. I am really concerned about eb3 and many of my close friends are in the same boat.

One thing everybody need to understand here is we should not show anger even though we are angry. Please mind your words in the forum. Too bad from all people writing words which are not good.
This website is searchable from search engines like google.com and it is really bad to see any anger and bad words in this website.

Same here - Masters from US, with PD 2006....Stilllllllllllllllll waiting!!!!!
I was reading an article handed over by my Lawyer sometime back - the whole GC process was designed to be completed in 6 mos. end-to-end.
This goes to show how outdated the process is, plus the resource crunch they may be facing at USCIS.
All in all - it's a black hole...only your 'karma' can get you out of it:)
Check my signature! I have a MS and PhD from here... be thankfully you are so far ahead with your processing!
I can understand your frustration, but try to empathize with guys who have PD before you and are stuck in this lousy system.

I keep reading we should fight for out rights and all. I am just curious
where does it say if on is on H1B or F1, he or she has a right to get a GC. GC or citizenship is a privilege, we cant demand it or force someone to give it to us. Its a simple demand and supply situation, there are more visa seekers then there is availability and therefore there is a waiting period. i am not sure why we don't accept the simple fact that there are way too many people from developing country like ours moving to US, and not everyone can be accommodated ASAP. i think US has every right to do what it thinks is best for her, even if we don't agree with that,
And those who say its discrimination, discrimination is when people from Bihar are beaten up on the streets of mumbai cause they are taking jobs away from marathi manus. Had there been so many techies from around the world taking up jobs in India, we would have seen street lynching.
People don't come here to work for someone else. They come to work for themselves (and eventually) hire Americans. If USCIS released their internal data as they've been asked and the numbers show that you've got to wait two decades for a green card, that is tantamount to them hanging a sign saying: "We don't serve Indians; We don't serve Chinese." They might as well just close and wind down operations.
People come for economic opportunity, and economic opportunity when you work for someone else is limited. Certainly less than in Canada, India and China when you work for yourself. People bring their creativity and ideas and hard work and the US benefits immensely from this skilled labour pool. They've also come because USCIS has put the foot ball in front of them, only to pull it back after we're years into the process.
A sign saying "We don't serve Indians or Chinese" *is* discrimination. But I would also use the word "fraud" for that is what it is: We paid for an advertised service. We spent years waiting for that service. We did not get that service. Pretty simple.
