Fortunately the US justice system works for everybody. Thats the hallmark of this great country.
Anybody can go to a court and seek justice if they feel they have been harmed or suffered losses even by a govt body.
Ample evidence is available in court records for cases against USCIS by GC applicants for delays and errors. This not an opinion but a fact.
In this country you just don't get screwed or get a cold shoulder for seeking justice within the written laws.
Unfortunately numbskulls like villamonte and DED don't have a mental capacity to understand these concepts

Earlier I got a PM from immigration (name on the handle, not USCIS). He has contributed $100 for this round. That takes us to the final 6 shots. Remember these shots can be taken by anyone who believes that IV is doing a great job in order to make necessary changes. If you don't believe so, please don't keep that doubt lingering in your mind, speak up and be heard, if you are uncomfortable posting your doubts on any one of the threads, please use PM. However, we intend to submit these as Op-Eds. In general, Op-Eds are more effective and more likely to be accepted when they are written in the first person. There is really no need to go into the various minutiae of the legal immigration system. Also, please try not to use form names like I485, or other technical terms like priority date, retrogression etc. It is probably best to use a generic term like 'backlog'. The newspaper editors - and the normal reader - are looking for how the broken system affected you, gentle writer. The very first article in this whole thread was really the best one since it was written from the first person and brought a face, a personality to paper.

My Eb2 Perm Labor Approved. It took 2 months to get approved. It was filed on 07/09/2010 and approved on (email received by HR dept) 09/10/2010. This is just to share with all of you.

You mean notice date? If your application is physically reached NSC on June 15th your receipt date should be around it. It makes sense for notice date getting delayed. However, your processing would be done based on RD only.
This would suck for older priority dates.
My priority date is March, 2002!! Application was delivered to Nebraska on June 15th but the Receipt date is in mid-July.
So all those filers with priority dates after me (did not come across any with PD older than mine) that got their receipt notices before me would jump ahead in line!! Who knows how many years more...
Hopefully they will change their procedure after this fiasco to go by Priority Dates first and then the receipt dates.

I came to USA in July 1997. I did my masters here. I worked for 3 fortune 500 companies so far. I have been with one company since last 11 years. I am on EB3(mar 2003). I am a senior manager in fortune 50 company and on the path towards directorship. I wish I had green card, that didn't prevent me from having a good life and career. I brought an house 10 years ago. All I can see few more years of wait. Reg' Pappu post about action, the only action I can take is converting my case to EB2, which I tried several times within the company and it didn't work. The second action I can take is change employer. I have a good career, pay in this job, not sure if I would be able to get same one outside.

This is by far the most effective story that highlights the security concerns raised by approving cases that hasn't cleared the background check yet. This could be the big story. It may, however, be the double-edged sword. I think we need to keep this going as much as we can.

My question (and suggestion) is, can the reverse happen in 2007-2008?
I know, this is an opportunistic and shameless suggestion from my part. But the fact of the matter is, we are rightfully entitled to the same number of visa numbers that we effectively 'loaned' to the FB visa category in the previous years.
What is important is that this sort of give and take can happen with out any law change. We only need to cry louder than FB folks, and USCIS may give unused FB visas to EB category.

Do not generalise all consulting companies...At least people working in these consulting companies sponsored GC and buying house and spending their money here. Most of the fradulent GC process was done by these croocked indian companies. They exploited the EB1C system to the maximum extend. Most of the times, they are not filing the GC and keep the employees as slaves or they exploit the EB1c fo their boot lickers.
Does anyone know such a bootlicker getting EB1c based GC? I wonder what a smart aleck that guy must been. There was a piece on NYT about India's penchant with lines and cutting lines by the uppity mongers..:D

Once your labor is cleared, you can get one year extn. If possible, try to file that one year extn before this becomes a law. Still this may not solve the issue other than postponing the issue.
So basically if this becomes law..Iam screwed..I am in my 30 day waiting period to file for my Labor in Jul-07 & want to get a 7th year extention in June-08. Am I reading it right?
