I submitted the 485 without the VSC hoping that it will be ready by the time USCIS issue RFE on this. Do you know when we can expect the RFE after the submission?

Did anybody notice this in the IRS communication that was sent out to taxpayers:
For taxpyers, the amount of money will be "reduced" or " completely phased out" for individuals making adjusted gross income or more than $75K ( or more than $150 if married and filing jointly).
How about that?
Not surprising. People who earn $75K (single) or $150K (as a couple) are not the ones who drastically change their lifestyles because of recession or high gas prices. In fact these people are anyways earning much above the national average. It's the low/middle-income folks that bear the brunt of high inflation and soaring gas prices...they are the ones being goaded into spending.
Anyways, think twice before you spend the rebate foolishly. Why not send it to IV, contribute to an IRA or fund your kid's 529 plan?

As you said that you applied for H1 extn in 2009 and got extended only for 1 yr instead of 3 yrs [as your I-140 was approved], this means that this yr if suppose you have to apply for H1 extn again that means again the employer has to pay around 4000$ for extn and your have to pay again around 500$ for H4 extn correct ?

So I had another set of soft LUDs on my approved 140, 485, approved EAD and approved AP today. This was the 4th LUD on my 485 and the 3rd LUD on the rest of the applications in the past week, and I was losing my mind worrying about receiving a denial or an RFE just before my trip abroad, leaving me with not enough time to respond to the RFE.
So I decided to call Customer Service, and after trying a million options on the voice prompt I finally managed to reach the Nebraska Service Center.
Upon inquiring about the LUDs with no status change, I was told that it was triggered due to the attorney name change and address change. My address that they had on file was also an old one, from 2 years ago. I have since moved, and done the online AR15 thing and received my EAD at the new address, so I'm not sure why/how the system showed the old address. But anyway, the lady on the phone was kind enough to change it to the new address. I didn't bother asking her if they had received the AC21 letter, I wasn't going to take the risk of having to argue with someone on the phone that switching employers is allowed under the AC21 law, etc. I was just happy to find out that the G28N had processed successfully and that I didn't have to expect a denial or RFE at least in the near future.
Apologies for the long post, but I thought that my tale might help someone that is getting anxious over a similar situation.

Every visa bulletin there is some information of the coming months processing that needs to be interpreted. The Oct 08 bulletin talks about the following:

That item also indicated that if the CIS projections proved to be incorrect, it would be necessary to adjust the cut-off dates during the final quarter of FY-2008. The CIS estimates have proven to be very high resulting in: 1) the �unavailability� of all Employment Third preference categories beginning in July, 2) the �unavailability� of numbers for China and India Employment Second preference adjustment of status cases during September, and 3) the establishment of many October Employment cut-off dates which are earlier than those which applied during FY-2008.
Little if any forward movement of the cut-off dates in most Employment categories is likely until the extent of the CIS backlog of old priority dates can be determined. It is estimated that the FY-2009 Employment-based annual limit will be very close to the 140,000 minimum.

Landed in August 2000.
Company A filed Eb2 labor in Aug 2003, went to backlog center, got an intent to deny letter, replied to that letter, eventually got denied.
Company B filed EB3 labr in Sep 2004, luckily filed I-485 in July 2007, got EAD.
Now working for Company C on EAD as an FTE using AC21 memo feature.

Trust me, my friend - I surely believe in systematic movement and by this june/july it will be Dec05 or beyond. Dates for EB2 have stayed around apr04 for really longer and then suddenly to 06. Very few perms were cleared in 05 (as per your posting). It should logivcally be past 2005 , never to go back.BTW ,we missed GC last aug/sept lotto
Me too. Actually , when the movement is not systematic and the gates are wide open, then they randomly pick up the cases and approve whatever file comes to them. The ones with older PDs suffer a lot while the ones with new ones get their GCs.

dont worry, the above scenario would happen only if pd remaines current.This is highly unlikely. In the next few months PD would retrogress to for instance 2004 , then you'll get your GC first :) Cheer up buddy:)

Looks like USCIS did all the easy work in June and now they are getting to grip with the reality (that they cannot process even 140K GC in a year!!!). How shameful. May be all the USCIS folks worked so hard during the last few weeks in June that they would have taken a long break from work after June:D:D
If there is a official press release regarding the visa number wastage, then we can take that along with the July 2 visa bulletin and meet with lawmakers to get some accountability from USCIS. This is BS.

We know that the Service Centers have been working day and night and did not have enough resources to deal with the crisis which was brought about by the recent Visa Bulletin fiasco. We just hope for the better new fiscal year that will start from October 1, 2007.

i have made significant contributions for my comp and saved millions over a period of time; and i can get reference letters from top mgmt
my question can i file my own 140 under exceptional ability category. ? and just to make sure do i need a labor ?
