I guess most of us under EB-3 can kiss our GC dream goodbye!! If we remain under EB-3...we will be waiting here forever and we cant move onto EB-2 with the new rules they are proposing....What a way to start the week!!!

Hey make sure that I am right by talking to an attorney. They usually charge $150 for for this suggestion. Please spend that money. If you do not have that money, I will give you a loan. Pay me back once you start working.

EAD is just a temporary relief. People are now going to be stuck in EAD stage and dates will move slowly. Each year people will have to renew EADs. We need a fix to the problem and end retrogression.

To those with H-1 extension issues:-
I applied for H1 extension 6 months ago and a month back changed to premium processing. I had got an RFE from regular dept and very same day made my application to premium processing. Now my application got approved without having to respond to RFE.
The RFE was employer-employee relationship and thats one bad RFE! Premium processing dept people are more experienced and better. Go premium on your H1!
Also, when on H-1 you can get promotion. there is no issue. It is called natural progression in job.
Have fun guys. In my opinion grass always looks greener on the other side. I think US is always better. Also, if you are single and EB2, you can make use of cross-chargeability to get your green card! Goodluck.

H1b and GC are sponsered by employer and they have to pay. If employer asks employee to pay the expenses then that company is not legitimate and persons should avoid joining those companies. Most reputed companies will pay all the expenses of GC and H1b. Some will ask employees to pay for dependents EAD,AP etc.
Consulting companies ask employees to pay GC and H1b if employees want to work hourly. That means employees wanted more money and they are taking risk(Also working hourly is against the H1b regulations as they have more chance for falling out of status).
There's no law that employer should borne the cost of GC. I have spent almost 10K in my GC process until last year and 2K this year for EADs and APs. This is specifically for those people who have never contributed but feel like contributing but for some reason hesitate to pull the trigger. For all such people who start a monthly contribution of $50 and promise (not to me or anyone else but themselves) to keep contributing for at least the next 6 months, I am going to make a one-time contribution of $50 for every such person. I have a modest upper limit, which I will disclose after the first 10 new contributors.
So people, Sept 18th is approaching fast and IV needs your contribution. Now is the time.
The only requirement is that the member has never contributed before and starts a $50 dollar recurring contribution. For every two new contributors I will make a $100 one-time contribution. Moderators may verify my contribution.
This is great thinking and wonderful initiative. It is a lesson how we all can be creative and help others motivate. It reminds of a story. There were two teams US and Japanese. They each were divided into two groups each and made to stand facing each other. There was a imaginary line drawn and the goal of each team is to convince their team members on the other side of the line to cross over. US Team were never able to convince their team members to cross over and move to other side.
Japanese simply said to their team members on other side.. If you cross over we will also cross over.. and they won. As simple as it may sound here is a classic example shown by Milind. You rock Milind.
And you make me feel proud in being associated with you in this struggle for our cause.
I am also in the drive for funds with my indifferent colleagues. See you in DC.

I just spoke to a lady at USCIS and she told me they just started working on case receipts for July 2nd and onwards so in next couple of weeks most of you who filed in first week of july should see their receipts..this is what she told me and she sounded very authentic..
I think they are all on same page. Entering all applications in their systems by monday and another8-10 days for all to get receipts makes it 2 weeks :)

I got a mail from IRS Today mentioning the eligibility criteria for Stimulus package. Only Primary person who filed Tax Return(may be single or jointly)
is eligible to get refund of $600 for single and $1200 if file jointly. Dependant cannot claim the package.
For each child additional $300.

Many of the H1B's are so involved in their work , they really donot follow their green card procedure and pressure their employers for better deal on filing their papers even when they have the chance.
New H1B's coming into the country should be given some guidance on the permanent residency process so that they donot end up like many of us in the forum waiting for years to get their residency.

Hi All,
How much time total process takes I think case by case. In my case it took around a year( from request to sponsor Eb2 to I-140 approval (premium processing). I had no perm auditing. I had no RFE on I-140. I filed my EB2 with the same employer.

what king meant was that anyone could apply for 485 and get an EAD which has no work restrictions as a H1 and enjoy the same benifits someone with a GC holds..down the line(after years of wait) even if the 485 gets rejected he/she has njoyed all the privilages or work/travel by getting his/her AP/EAD...

I read here that King said that everyon on EAD and AP is getting a free ride even thought here green card might get rejected. What does he mean by that. I tahught every process goes thorugha security check. such as I 140, H1b, AP and even EAD.
